August 25, 2008 – Driver Dead After Colliding with 2 Tractor-Trailers

An Indiana woman died early Monday morning when her car collided with two tractor-trailers. The crash happened at around 2 a.m. on Interstate 465 in Indianapolis.

State Police said 22-year-old Amber Hurst  was driving her Ford Mustang when she rear-ended a tractor-trailer. She then lost control of her vehicle and swerved, colliding with another tractor-trailer.

“It appears a vehicle (car) was traveling at a high rate of speed,” said Indiana State Police Sgt. Anthony Emery. Hurst was ejected from her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to police.

Niether of the drivers of the tractor-trailers were injured.
